Designs

Modern designs can tend towards the utilitarian, trading grace, beauty and sea-keeping qualities for luxury accommodation, headroom and ease of production. "Floating Caravan" is one description to be heard when addressing a modern cruising yacht. A song often sung in pubs on the East Coast sums up the aesthetics of the modern production yacht

"Classic Yachts" of fifty and sixty years ago have a shape of grace and beauty which is still initially visualised when people think of yachts and those who know will attest to their seaworthiness and comfortable motion in a seaway.

The perceived problem with the old classics is maintenance, their susceptibility to rot and the high cost of professional repair work when required.

Building selected classic designs, from the pens of well known and respected designers, using modern, low maintenance epoxy/timber construction will produce a high quality yacht which will stand out from the crowd and is tough enough to withstand the rigours of use.

Our yachts are semi-custom builds, in other words we build the hull to the design specification using modern epoxy/timber production methods. We offer a choice of traditional laid deck or epoxy glassed plywood deck, the interior layout can incorporate your ideas and requirements and the deck layout and colour scheme are your choice.
