| Built in1930
and based on the 22 Square Metre Skerry Cruiser rules, VIGILANT
was one of Uffa Fox's early ventures into keelboat design and the forerunner
to the famous Flying Fifteens. She is of very light construction, so
much so that the Q Class which raced on the Solent refused to allow her
to compete.
Sleek and stylish with a long
counter, her fractional rig would not look out of place among today's
yachts.
There is, currently under
discussion, the possibility of recreating these yachts to form a small
racing fleet. |
